SIEGE 2010

60+ sessions and 120 presenters await us this weekend in Atlanta.

ATLANTA, Ga – September 27, 2010 — The Georgia Game Developers Association (GGDA) today announced its largest set of session and presenters for the fourth annual Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo (SIEGE). Scheduled for Oct. 1 - 3, 2010, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel - Atlanta Perimeter NW (Powers Ferry Rd), SIEGE brings together the leading Southern companies, universities and organizations in the game industry.

“With 60+ sessions and more than 120 presenters, this line-up makes SIEGE one of the largest game development conferences in the world,” said Andrew Greenberg, SIEGE director and a partner at Holistic Design, Inc., an Atlanta-based computer game company. “With speakers ranging from a professor Playboy just named one of the most innovative in America to the release manager at the most exciting digital distribution network to the very founder of the video game industry, this year’s SIEGE is truly incomparable.”

SIEGE’s speakers include Nolan Bushnell, the creator of Pong and Atari; Anna Sweet, release Manager for Valve’s Steam service; Jesse James Allen, the sound director for EA Sports; Ian Schreiber, one of the founders of the Global Game Jam; members of the Georgia House of Representatives; artists, programmers, designers, lawyers, and people from all aspects of the digital entertainment industry.

Sessions cover the gamut of game design, programming, art and audio. This year SIEGE also includes numerous sessions on the burgeoning serious games community; professional-only roundtables; and a game production boot camp for people developing or interested in developing their own game.

SIEGE begins Oct. 1 with a college fair featuring colleges with game-oriented degrees from around the country and in-depth tutorial sessions on using leading game design tools and even on how to get songs up on Rock Band Network. The entire program can be found at www.siegecon.net.

As the Southeast's leading gaming and interactive conference, SIEGE brings together students and professionals from across the region to celebrate the world of gaming. SIEGE's speakers include leading figures from a wide spectrum of the industry, including artists, programmers, designers, writers, teachers and business executives. Special events include game design tournaments, game playing tournaments, parties, networking events, and a student fair for high school students and others looking for colleges.
