ShopTo.net on Facebook

10,000 "Likes" (and the free T-shirts nothing to do with it).

ShopTo.Net are celebrating breaking the 10,000 Facebook “Likes” barrier with a weeks’ worth of random acts of kindness, giving out free T-Shirts and other goodies to Facebook users.

ShopTo.Net the UK’s fastest growing video games and movies retailer have today registered their ten thousandth “Like” on social networking site Facebook. To celebrate they will be performing random acts of kindness and handing out spot prizes to users in the form of T-Shirts and other freebies.

ShopTo.Net only began using Facebook in late September 2009 however over the past year the ShopTo page usage has grown rapidly to become a real social hub for the internet retailer.

“We are delighted by the response we have received to our Facebook page.” ShopTo Marketing Manager, Philip Driver.

“Facebook gives us another platform to talk to our customers, not in a buyer and seller relationship as you might through customer service but on the level of friends with a shared interest. We love games and our customers do too, we both get excited about game launches and game news. It’s a real community and we want to nurture that.”

“To achieve 10,000 “Likes” on Facebook in such a short time is a real achievement and a testament to our commitment to providing more than just a place to buy games. But we won’t be stopping there! We will be spending the next week giving back to the community, offering T-Shirts and other goodies and then it’s on to the next target, 20,000!”

Facebook was launched in 2004 and has since gone on to become the world’s most popular social networking site with over 500 million active users. Facebook also recently announced it would be entering the email and instant messaging arena with a new communication facility for users.
