ShiVa 3D

3D engine now supports development on gadgets with Nvidia's Tegra mobile processor.

SOPHIA-ANTIPOLIS, France – June 11, 2010 – Stonetrip, a leading 3D engine company for games and 3D applications, today announced that ShiVa 3D is supporting development on mobile devices utilizing the NVIDIA ® Tegra TM mobile processor. Tegra is the first processor that enables mobile devices to provide the same web browsing capabilities as a desktop PC, with full-resolution Web pages and HD video, plus days of battery life. ShiVa 3D is the one of the first engines for Tegra that enables 3D game and application development.

Developers using ShiVa 3D have ported four popular games onto the next-generation Tegra platform: Pocket Fish from Control Chaos; Crusade of Destiny and Welcome the Hell from Dvide Arts; and Voodoo Dice from Exkee. All of the titles were built on the ShiVa 3D engine and take advantage of the multimedia processing power of Tegra.

“NVIDIA is the world leader in graphics chip technology, and partnering with them means game developers everywhere can now bring console-quality games to tablets and smartphones,” said Philip Belhassen, CEO of Stonetrip. “Game and 3D application creators will be able to develop content for any mobile device using Tegra which further expands the functionality of our leading 3D engine.”

“We worked closely with Stonetrip to provide developer tools that unleash the power of Tegra for a new generation of mobile games,” said Bill Rehbock, general manager, content marketing at NVIDIA.

The NVIDIA Tegra processor delivers stunning 3D graphics, lightning-quick browsing, 1080p video and Adobe ® Flash ® Player 10.1 acceleration, with unbeatable battery life. Tegra features eight independent processors, including the world’s first dual core CPU for mobile applications. These processors are used together or independently to optimize power usage at all times.
