Shine On - Design Stars Emerge

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SAN FRANCISCO (March, 2008) - Bay Area Companies, Design Firms and Public are invited to review a new generation of up-and-coming designers participating in the Winter 2008 Portfolio Show at The Art Institute of California - San Francisco. The March 20 event will feature artwork, design portfolios and demo reels of students graduating in the fields of Advertising, Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing & Management, Game Art & Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Media Arts & Animation, Visual & Game Programming and Web Design & Interactive Media.

The Portfolio Show will feature light refreshments and an opportunity to meet and converse with graduates looking for employment, as well as faculty and staff of the school. Students graduating with either associate or bachelor's degrees will be showcased.

"This is a perfect opportunity to see fresh design talent in a variety of fields all in one setting," said Donna Dessart, Director of Career Services for the school. "We invite anyone who's looking to hire entry-level designers to come to this event to meet this new group of graduates. It's a great chance to see their portfolios and meet them in person."

The Art Institute of California - San Francisco's Career Services Department works with Bay Area employers to supply new talent for a variety of design jobs. Alumni from the school have been hired by local companies including, Electronic Arts, Lucas Arts, ILM, Tippett, Williams Sonoma, TMP Worldwide, Levi Strauss, PDI/DreamWorks, Double Fine, KNTV-TV NBC11, Georgiou, Mulberry Neckwear, Koret of California, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Leapfrog, Locomotive Studios, GAP Inc., Old Navy, Gymboree Inc., Perpetual Entertainment, and other companies.
