Shane Kim Gears up for War sequel
Microsoft Game Studios boss is looking ahead to "biggest" first party title of 2008
Head of Microsoft Game Studios, Shane Kim, has apparently claimed that Gears of War 2 will be the biggest first party Xbox 360 title to hit the console this year - a title which he believes will eclipse Lionhead's Fable 2.
According to MTV Multiplayer Kim was confident that Peter Molyneux's latest roleplaying title was "coming along really well," but that the Epic shooter will surpass it in terms of profile.
Kim's comments come just a short while after Grand Theft Auto IV became the biggest entertainment launch in history, taking USD 310 million in revenue in the first 24 hours after release.
That dwarfed Microsoft's biggest first party launch, which was Halo 3 last year. That game took USD 170 million in its first 24 hours, which was until GTA IV the biggest videogame launch to date.
