Serious IT kit to give away at ACON5 UK

£7,500 of IT kit and 1st Place trip to Global Final up for grabs at ACON5 UK Final

14th April 2005 - Thanks to partners ATI, Corsair, Intel, Chenbro, Creative and Logitech, ABIT are pleased to announce the full details of prizes available for competitors at the ACON5 UK final.

Seven teams have qualified from the IGUK (http://www.iguk.org) gaming centres to take their places in the Counter Strike (1.6) competition on Saturday 23rd April at Uttoxeter. An eighth team will join them from amongst the gamers attending the ACON5 LAN party run by GameOn (http://www.gameon.co.uk)

A number of Warcraft III: Throzen Throne competitors will also be attending to compete on Sunday 24th April, including the best players in the UK.

The winners in both competitions will win an all-expenses paid trip to the Global Final in June, whilst runners-up will share in the following bounty....

In addition, all players in each of the eight teams will receive a raffle ticket for each round they compete in. At the end of the tournament, a random draw will decide the winner of an Intel Pentium 4 Processor 560 (LGA775, 3.6Ghz, 800Mhz FSB with 1MB L2 Cache).

Throughout the day, 5 Creative MuVo MP3 Players will be awarded for players demonstrating exceptional individual performance.

ACON5 LAN Party

Qualify for ACON by attending the ACON5 LAN Party

With one team place in the Counter Strike (1.6) competition up for grabs amongst LAN party attendees, gamers who have not qualified through the IGUK Gaming Centres, can still compete in ACON5 by attending the LAN party, which begins at 7pm on Friday 22nd April.

The ACON5 LAN Party is open to everybody - gamers can book a place online by visiting the ACON5 website (http://www.acon5.com/). Three days of gaming, commencing on the evening of Friday 22nd April at Uttoxeter Racecourse, can be purchased for just £35.00 thanks to the support of ACON5 sponsors such as ATI, Corsair, Intel, LG, and local sponsors Chenbro, Logitech and AG Neovo.
