Sensor Tower: Eight different mobile games topped $1bn in spending this year

Report says trend of multiple titles reaching the revenue milestone continues to increase since 2018

Today Sensor Tower reported that eight different mobile games generated $1 billion in consumer spending during 2021.

The firm said there were five titles to hit that mark 2020, and three each in 2019 and 2018.

The titles that generated over $1 billion in consumer spending include:

  1. PUBG Mobile - Tencent
  2. Honor of Kings - Tencent
  3. Genshin Impact - MiHoYo
  4. Roblox - Roblox
  5. Coin Master - Moon Active
  6. Pokémon Go - Niantic
  7. Candy Crush Saga - King
  8. Garena Free Fire - Garena

Of course, the games at the top of the chart didn't stop at $1 billion. PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings each brought in $2.8 billion, whereas Genshin Impact saw $1.8 billion in consumer spending.

Growth in mobile gaming hasn't been limited to the top of the charts. Sensor Tower forecasted that consumer spending for mobile titles in 2021 will be nearly $90 billion globally, representing growth of 12.6% year-over-year.
