Selatra announces Behind the Lines distribution deal

Exclusive rights secured for Scandinavian and Russian markets

Selatra has announced an exclusive deal with GMedia to secure the distribution rights for Java-based mobile adventure game Behind the Lines in Scandinavia and Russia.

The global distributor will also distribute the title on a non-exclusive basis to over 50 countries around the world using its existing network of partnerships with operators and mobile content retailers.

Selatra CEO Sean Cronin stated: "GMedia's Behind the Lines fits in neatly with our strategy of releasing only the highest quality branded and non-branded games to our retail partners. We help developers big and small, tap into a potential audience of over 200 million subscribers worldwide."

Behind the Lines, available on all GSM and 3G networks, is a squad-based WW2 strategy title that includes some RPG style elements as troops gain experience and skills through mission progression. Players control a squad of Commandos battling through 12 missions in an attempt to disrupt the enemy war machine in the North African campaign.

Features include heavy artillery, grenades, time-bombs and air strikes, and the title already has a dedicated community website in place. Behind the Lines is GMedia's first premium mobile game.

Based in Southern Ireland, GMedia was founded in 2004 for the creation and distribution of Java games for a range of mobile devices. The company views the Selatra distribution deal as the beginning of a long-term relationship which it intends to take advantage of for its future gaming projects and mobile content.

GMedia MD Matthew Lynch commented: "We chose Selatra for their high selection standard, speed of game release, range of distribution and professional reputation in the industry. This will give our game an important edge in generating early revenues."

Selatra, founded in 2002, is a global distributor of mobile content with a network that spans over 50 countries across the world. Its portfolio of 2D and 3D Java games continues to grow through strategic partnerships with mobile content developers and publishers worldwide.
