Sega's French MD assumes responsibility for Germany

No direct replacement for Wiedemann as Rebours steps up to lead Munich team

Sega has put French managing director James Rebours in charge of its German subsidiary, confirming that it will not appoint a direct replacement for Mark Wiedemann who left after five years with the company.

Rebours, who also oversees Switzerland and Austria, has been with Sega since 2003, and helped established Sega's Spanish business in 2006.

The Sonic publisher axed a number of staff in the UK and US earlier in the year and shuffled its executives as it reorganises to adapt to new digital markets.

Rebours will be supported in the Munich office by head of marketing Henning Otto and product managers Malte Minke and Chinh Vu.
