Sega to close Chromehounds servers
Publisher withdraws online support for its Xbox 360 mech-sim
Sega has confirmed that it is to close the online service for its Xbox 360 mech-sim game Chromehounds.
In a statement posted on Sega's official forums, a spokesperson said:
"We regret to inform everyone that the Chromehounds online service will be closing on January 6 2010. At this time, all online components for Chromehounds will no longer be accessible and the game will only be available for play in Offline modes.
"We would like to thank everyone in the Chromehounds community for their passion and support over the past 3 years of service. Please enjoy the remaining time with the game."
Released in July 2006, Chromehounds received a mixed reception from critics. While the game comes with a single player story mode, it also supports a range of online modes including 'Neroimus War' - a mode played against teams of up to six players.
