Sega signs From Software's Tenchu for Europe

K2 Studios' latest instalment in the Tenchu series, Tenchu: Fatal Shadows, is set to be published in Europe by SEGA Europe thanks to a deal with the new owner of the franchise, Japanese publisher From Software.

The title, which features returning heroine Ayane as well as a new character, Rin, will be released exclusively on the PlayStation 2 next spring, and From Software will be providing planning and production assistance as part of the new deal.

Interestingly, the arrangement leaves the originator of the Tenchu franchise, Activision, out of the loop entirely. Activision sold the Tenchu rights to From Software a few months ago, but it was widely assumed that the firm would continue to publish the series outside of Japan.
