Sega scores in Japanese charts

Sega's latest release in the J-League Pro Soccer series has managed to claim the top spot in Japan, in a top thirty dominated by Nintendo products.

Sega's latest release in the J-League Pro Soccer series has managed to claim the top spot in Japan, in a top thirty dominated by Nintendo products.

J-League Pro Soccer 5 has sold over 100,000 units in its first week of release, and is one of only five titles in the top thirty not available for DS or Wii.

Marvellous's new Harvest Moon title for the DS is the second highest new entry, selling just under 80,000 units, while Dragon Quest Monsters - Joker, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas have both sold over 57,000 and 49,000, respectively.

There are no Xbox 360 titles in the top fifty, and only one PlayStation 3 game in the charts - From Software's Enchant Arm.

Hardware sales in the region were down compared to last week, with the DS once again the most successful system, selling 146,192 units, while Nintendo's Wii sold 65,740 units.

Sony's PSP sold 31,216 units, while the PlayStation 3 just outsold the PS2 with 17,727 and 17,540 units respectively.

The Xbox 360 sold 6130 units, the Game Boy Advance 1802 and the GameCube 306 units.
