SEGA plans four more PSP titles
Japanese publisher SEGA updates its PlayStation Portable website with brief descriptions of four new titles, prompting widespread speculation as to what it might have in store.
SEGA has added four more titles to its list of games in development for the Sony PlayStation Portable handheld, although the Japanese publisher has yet to reveal anything other than short descriptions of the games on its PSP website.
The new titles will be a "New Sensation Communication Game," a "Multiplayer Sports Game", a "Graphic Adventure Game", and a "Digital Pet" product according to translation, and will join puzzle game Puyo Puyo Fever and the equally enigmatic "Project S" on the Japanese firm's PSP schedule.
In the absence of details, speculation is already rife that SEGA might be planning to bring its Virtua Tennis sports franchise to the PSP. VT would certainly be a popular choice, but it remains equally possible that the company may borrow from elsewhere in its range of sports titles. Meanwhile, Japanese websites have speculated that the "Digital Pet" may be a reincarnation of cult Dreamcast title Seaman.
SEGA has yet to comment on the changes to its PSP website.
As for the PlayStation Portable itself, platform holder Sony has still yet to confirm an official release date or pricing information, although the company did recently concede for the first time that the console might not hit its pre-Christmas launch target, claiming that a shortfall in software could conceivably delay its release.
