Sugar Land, TX – July 24, 2009 – SouthPeak Interactive, in conjunction with TimeGate Studios, has announced the relaunch of the official website for its upcoming first person shooter, Section 8™. The site is now live at JoinSection8.com. Section 8 will be released on Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Games for Windows® later this summer

Like the game, the new site offers visitors a glimpse of the galaxy in the midst of interplanetary war. It features a variety of content, such as exclusive fansite kits, screenshots, art, cinematic trailers and descriptions of weapons and vehicles from the game. Visitors can get in-depth info on Section 8’s unique burn-in mechanics, numerous deployables and dynamic combat missions. Content also includes the latest news on the game as well as a chance to pre-order it.

Most importantly, new recruits can sign up for the exclusive Beta event which will give them the opportunity to take part in game before anyone else. For anyone that hasn’t yet been able to fight in the ultimate war for control of the galaxy, this is your best chance.

Section 8 gives players the opportunity to call their own shots as they battle in the farthest reaches of the galaxy. With the ability to drop from the sky to anywhere on the battlefield, customize your soldier’s equipment, and dynamically manipulate the flow of combat with strategic asset deliveries, each soldier’s Section 8 experience will be completely different. Still, the official site will continue to provide content that will give players a look at what they will have at their disposal when they enter mankind’s greatest battle.
