Conference creator The Game Initiative has announced details of the second annual Seattle Game Conference, a job conference and recruitment workshop scheduled to take place in February 2006.
The event is designed to provide students and young professionals who are looking to work in the games industry with an opportunity to network and meet with hundreds of leading industry insiders, including top recruitment consultants and hiring managers.
The single day conference includes a CV writing workshop, job conference and industry focused recruitment drive. The first conference, held in February 2005, attracted over 500 attendees from the US and beyond.
Christopher Sherman, executive director of organisers The Game Initiative, stated: "We are once again pleased to host the one and only Seattle Game Conference, an event designed to allow attendees an unprecedented opportunity to interact with game industry professionals, gaining valuable contacts and strategies of how to get into the game industry."
"The program identifies technology trends and job requirements, includes a detailed resume workshop as well as an overview of the qualifications and skill-sets that are in demand. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and network with industry insiders throughout the day and participate in the Demo Reel Showcase, where can bring their laptops to showcase their demo reels to peers and industry professionals for direct feedback," Sherman added.
The 2006 conference will take place at the Highline Performing Arts Centre in Burien, Seattle, on February 4th. Registration for the event is now open, and full details of the costs and program schedule can be found at the official conference website.
