SD Gundam Capsule Fighter

Bandai Korea's online PC game headed for Japan courtesy of CJ Internet.

Seoul, Korea- Jan. 14th, 2010 – Softmax announced the licensing deal of SD Gundam Capsule Fighter with CJ Internet Japan on January 20, 2010. SD Gundam Capsule Fighter is an Online PC game developed by Softmax and designed by Bandai Korea.

The amount of money Softmax received from the licensing deal including licensing fee and incentives is reported to be 5 billion Won (US$ 3.9 million).

CJ Internet Japan is a subsidiary of CJ Internet, a Korean publisher of SD Gundam Capsule Fighter, which has been operating SD Gundam Capsule Fighter since 2006. CJ Internet Japan is a major online game publisher established in 2004 as operating a variety of RPGs and now plans to expand to casual games starting with SD Gundam Capsule Fighter. Considering its brand awareness in Japan, SD Gundam Capsule Fighter is expected to make a successful introduction.

After localization, Softmax plans to reveal SD Gundam Capsule Fighter to Japanese players in February and then officially launch in the first half of the year.

SD Gundam Capsule Fighter, the first Gundam online action game even in Japan, already attracted Japanese fans who regularly accesses to Korean servers in order to play the game. Also, fans in Japan upload game demos in UCC sites such as Nico Nico Douga (‚É‚±‚É‚±“®‰æ) and YouTube whenever Softmax introduces a new Unit. Unprecedented 200 player units in the game raise player¡¯s anticipation.

"We received raving reviews at Gstar 2009. With this licensing deal, we hope SD Gundam Capsule Fighter becomes the most popular online games in Asia. After that we plan to explore other regions as well," Bandai Korea said.
