SavRow cuts into mobile workstation market with Katana

PC system builder SavRow has announced the latest addition to its range of professional systems, the Katana 3D-9 - a laptop system aimed at the 3D design and game development markets which features NVIDIA Quadro graphics.

The mobile workstation system is optimised for high performance 3D graphics, and according to high end system specialists SavRow, "in many ways eclipses desktop workstations".

The laptop comes configured with Intel Pentium 4 CPUs up to 3.8Ghz, dual DDR2 SODIMM memory slots, dual hard drives with RAID as an option, and upgradeable graphics.

Recognising the importance of a high resolution display for graphics professionals, the firm also ships the Katana with a choice of screens - a 1680 x 1050 high gloss, high contrast display, or an ultra high resolution 1920 x 1200 display.

Since the launch of its first system in 2003, SavRow has won a number of awards for its systems - including the recent Ultimate Designer Laptop gong for the SavRow Razor, awarded by PC Pro magazine.
