Saitek launches the ultimate PC gaming mouse

Bristol, 8 June 2005 - Saitek has launched its PC Gaming mouse, a high resolution mouse with programmable buttons.

The Saitek PC Gaming mouse is designed specifically to offer gamers additional features which will improve the way they play games. The smooth, contoured design is ideal for left- and right- handed gamers and fits hands perfectly for fatigue-free gaming.

As well as the left and right buttons and scroll wheel found on most PC mice, the Saitek PC Gaming mouse features additional buttons which increase mouse functionality in both office and gaming environments: A "Turbo" button switches between 800 or 1600dpi resolution for ultra fast and highly accurate mouse tracking; Teflon feet give smooth, resistance-free movement; programmable hotkeys mean in-game commands normally reserved for keyboard buttons can be accessed directly from the mouse, improving gameplay; and additional software for configuring mouse controls allows different functions to be assigned to buttons or the scroll wheel.

For non gaming use, the Gaming Mouse's additional buttons open function wheels to trigger preset macros where user-programmed keystroke sequences can be activated or MS Office applications opened with a single mouse button press.

"We've designed the PC Gaming Mouse specifically to give gamers increased control, speed of response and functionality," said Rob Handoll, Saitek PC Gaming Controllers Product Manager. "With 6 conveniently positioned buttons and a turbo switch, the PC Gaming Mouse is the perfect weapon for all First Person Shooter enthusiasts, giving them the control they need in the heat of a fragging session."

Features include:

  • Ergonomic styling for hours of fatigue-free gaming
  • 1600dpi Optical Sensor - works on virtually any surface - as fast as any mouse on the market
  • 7 Buttons, including 1 dedicated to instantly move to 1600dpi speed
  • Attractive, illuminated rim, which flashes when mouse is moved
  • Teflon feet for smooth, resistance-free movement
  • Programming software for enhanced office-web functionality
