Saffron Digital appoints new COO
Jason Keane makes the move from NBC Universal
Saffron Digital, the media delivery service, has hired Jason Keane as the new chief operating officer for its UK operations.
Keane made the move earlier this month, leaving his role as VP of Universal Networks Interactive at NBC Universal.
"Having worked with Saffron Digital and its founders over the three years that I was at NBC Universal, I've always known that it's a company full of potential to grow and to extend its lead in digital media delivery across devices," said Jason Keane.
"This kind of opportunity doesn't come around often and I'm looking forward to getting involved in all aspects of the COO role."
Keane has also worked with a number of large technology brands.
"I'm delighted that we can attract people of the calibre of Jason to Saffron Digital," said Saffron Ditigal CEO David McDonald.
"His track record at NBC Universal, and prior to that with Microsoft and Yahoo shows that he is well-versed in managing large digital operations. Saffron is ready to expand and develop new business models, and with Jason in charge of operations, we're extremely well-placed to secure new partnerships and grow our business substantially."
Saffron Digital offers media delivery services like video on demand, fast encoding and DRM to clients such as Vodafone, Sky News and Audi. Their technology has also been integrated into products from Nokia, Sony Ericsson, HTC, LG and Samsung.
