RuneScape developer hires new COO and CMO

Daniel Clough and Wendy Rosenthal join UK company Jagex

Jagex has appointed Daniel Clough as its new chief operating officer. Wendy Rosenthal will take the role of chief marketing officer.

"I am really excited to be welcomed into the Jagex team," added Rosenthal told Develop.

"Jagex has been creating amazing games which entertain millions of people across the world for the last ten years. This in itself is a very exciting prospect from a marketing perspective. The company is continuing to invest in great game content for RuneScape and developing and growing other titles, as well as focusing on marketing its amazing content."

Jagex is best known for the free to play MMO RuneScape, but also publishes casual and independent titles.

Rosenthal has been with the company since January, and previously held positions as partner of advisory firm The Wanda Group and as managing director of Hyper Entertainment. She also worked with Sony development.

Clough meanwhile first started working with Jagex in April 2002 as a customer support team member, working his way up through the ranks to head of games development in August 2007 and vice president of RuneScape in January of this year.

"I'm very excited to be taking on the role of chief operating officer," Clough added.

"Jagex is well positioned to strengthen both its overall games portfolio and player community significantly, and I'm delighted to be able to play a part in making that happen."

In June Jagex also announced the appointment of Phil White as vice president of 8Realms, the developer's new strategy title.
