DSi to see US release on April 4 - rumour
Early April release date likely according to "sources close to Nintendo"
Nintendo is rumoured to be planning to debut the DSi, the latest iteration on the DS Lite handheld, during April of this year in the US.
Speculation is that the new device is set to cost USD 179.99 and will be released during the first half of 2009 but, more specifically, that April 4 seems like the likely date, according to IGN which cites "multiple sources close to Nintendo".
Unveiled in October last year, the DSi, featuring a camera and built-in memory, saw it's debut in Japan late last year and subsequently revived sales of Nintendo's handheld, which had been losing ground to Sony's PlayStation Portable in the region.
This news follows earlier statements made by Nintendo of America's president, Reggie Fils-Aime, that the DSi would not be released in the US until at least April this year - due to the ongoing demand for the DS Lite.
