Rulers of Nations

Getting the measure of the recent US elections.

WEST HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT – NOVEMBER 29, 2010 – In quick reaction to the U.S. elections on November 2 nd, Eversim has updated Rulers of Nations, its recently released PC geopolitical simulation game.  The game now separately manages the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives, and takes into account the results of the recent election cycle.

On November 30 th, President Obama will meet Republican and Democratic Congressional leaders at the White House, in an effort to agree on urgent economic measures that the country needs.  The player who plays the U.S. President will need to be clever and intuitive to vote through his laws, as the two houses have majorities from opposing political parties.

It’s not easy, but it’s what the United States will have to deal with when the new Congress takes office in January 2011.

Gamers playing President Obama will need to the people, special interest groups, lobbyists, and associations.  Rulers of Nations provides several strategies to achieve results, but those strategies – just like in real life – will be very difficult to fully implement.  The President will need to spend more time arranging meetings with key political players, and try to convince them to negotiate and reach an acceptable compromise to pass new legislation they can support.  The difficulty of these actions is underscored by one unavoidable fact:  new legislation costs the government money, and at this time in our financially limited situation, getting concurrence and support will be a significant challenge for any political leader.

Rulers of Nations provides several levels of difficulty in the game, so it offers constantly changing environments in which to operate.  Casual gamers and hard core gamers have an equal chance to succeed.   How successful will you be?  Will you be reelected in 2012?
