Rockstar confirms GTA PSP for October quarter

One of the most anticipated titles for Sony's PlayStation Portable, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, is set to arrive in during publisher Take Two's fourth quarter - which runs from August to the end of October.

The news that the game, originally slated for a summer release, has moved into that quarter came courtesy of Take Two's financial results last week - and seems to confirm the assertion made by SCEE boss David Reeves in Los Angeles last month that GTA would arrive on PSP shortly after the console's European launch on September 1st.

Indeed, major US retail chain Wal-Mart has now listed a date for the title - with September 5th being touted as the launch date on the company's website, which also gives a date for Gran Turismo 4 Mobile, namely January 10th 2006.

According to Rockstar, the game, which sees players return to Liberty City, setting for the first 3D GTA title, "has an entirely original storyline with all new missions and the freedom, production values and depth of play comparable to other Grand Theft Auto titles".
