CAMBRIDGE, MA and NEW YORK, NY – Sept. 29, 2010 - Harmonix Music Systems and MTV Games, a part of Viacom’s MTV Networks (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), along with T-Mobile USA, Inc., the official mobile partner of the Rock Band Network, today announced that San Diego-formed Delta Spirit (Rounder Records) are the Rock Band Network’s September “T-Mobile Artist-of-the-Month”.

“Delta Spirit’s inspired vocals and driving music make them a natural for the September T-Mobile Artist-of-the-Month," said Cheryl Gehbauer, Senior Director of Music for MTV Games. "The band speaks to the great variety of music styles present in the Rock Band Network."

Delta Spirit was chosen as T-Mobile Artist-of-the-Month through a contest that asked bands to submit their songs and bios to a microsite during a contest run during April 2010. As the September “T-Mobile Artist-of-the-Month,” Delta Spirit will be featured for one month in promotions throughout the Rock Band Network Music Store and on the official game website , http://www.RockBand.com, including the new RBN content hub at http://t-mobile.rockband.com, which is fast becoming a rich source of information about Rock Band Network, including Inside RBN, a source for consumers to discover new music, and Creators Club, a source for artist/authors/labels to find out more about the RBN authoring process.

Delta Spirit formed in 2005 in San Diego and is composed of friends and former bandmates Jonathan Jameson and Brandon Young, and Kelly Winrich and Matthew Vasquez.  The band released their debut EP, I Think I've Found It, on Monarchy Music in 2006 and self-produced and recorded their debut full length album, Ode to Sunshine, in a cabin in the San Diego mountains. It was re-released with new artwork Aug. 26, 2008, by Rounder Records. Their second album, History From Below, was released June 8, 2010, by Rounder Records. “White Table,” a song from that record, can be downloaded from the Rock Band Network Music Store for play in the Rock Band video game. The Rock Band Network, launched March 4, 2010, gives Rock Band fans and music lovers a new avenue to discover music and provides musicians and labels the opportunity to produce and promote tracks for the Rock Band platform. There are more than 400 artists in the RBN pipeline, with additional tracks already on the way.

With almost 2,000 tracks available to date in the Rock Band platform, the Rock Band Network Music Store has helped boost the number of available songs, further securing MTV Games and Harmonix’s position as the leading provider of downloadable content for music-based video games.
