Ridge Racer
E3, 2005 - The launch of the original Ridge RacerTM in 1995 for PlayStation® changed the racing genre forever, bringing 3D racing from the Arcade into the home. Due for simultaneous release with the PSPTM, Namco's Ridge RacerTM promises to raise the benchmark yet again and redefine the standards for portable gaming.
Featuring the best-loved courses from arcade classic Rave RacerTM and the entire Ridge Racer series, as well as new courses exclusive to the PSP, 24 exhilarating circuits stand between you and racing glory. Course visuals have been revamped to take advantage of the stunning PSP screen, and the game runs at a super-smooth 60 frames per second. The pumping stereo soundtrack features remixed versions of old favourites alongside exclusive new music, with 30 tracks in all.
There are 58 playable cars, all featuring the Ridge Racer series' trademark drift handling. Super high speeds are achievable with the new Nitrous system. Fill your nitrous tanks by drifting as much as possible!.
Multiple game modes are available, providing varied challenges to satisfy all your arcade racing needs. Drive in style through World Tour Mode, rising through the ranks by completing different tours and unlocking hidden bonuses, or strive to beat the clock in Time Attack Mode. Test your racing skills against other players in the Wireless Battle Mode for up to 8 players, or try Custom Tour, an innovative new mode where you set the time you have to spare (5 to 60 minutes) and the game allocates a custom set of courses tailored to your specification.
Ridge Racer promises to be one of the "must-have" games for the PSP, making breathtaking use of the console's capabilities to provide an arcade-style racing experience that more than does justice to its well-loved heritage.

Game Overview
Featuring the best-loved race courses from arcade classic Rave RacerTM and the entire Ridge RacerTM series, 24 circuits of breakneck speed and exhilaration stand between you and racing glory. Drive in style and rise through the ranks to unlock hidden bonuses in World Tour Mode, strive to beat the clock in Time Attack Mode, or test your racing skills with a multiplayer Wireless Battle.
Key Features
- Drive in style and rise through the ranks to unlock hidden bonuses in World Tour Mode, with 39 different tours available such as Beginner, All Night and Beach, each comprised of between 2 and 6 races.
- Test your racing skills against up to 8 players in Wireless Battle Mode.
- Featuring 24 breathtaking courses, the most in any Ridge Racer game, including old favourites Seaside Route 765, Crimsonrock Pass and Greenpeak Highlands as well as new courses exclusive to the PSPTM version.
- 58 cars available, including special extreme machines, with 25 different colours and individual tachometers for each vehicle and reworked and enhanced car design, complete with Ridge Racer series' trademark drift handling.
- Take your eye off the clock in Custom Tour Mode, an innovative new feature where you set the time you have to spare (5 to 60 minutes) and the game allocates a custom set of courses tailored to your specification.

- Visuals of all classic courses have been revamped and the game takes full advantage of the console's capabilities, running at a super smooth rate of 60 frames per second.
- Actual car designers have provided input into the vehicle designs, ensuring correct car aerodynamics and specifications.
- 30 music tracks are featured, including remixed versions of old favourites alongside new tracks created exclusively for the PSP version.
- The game marks the return of the lovely Reiko Negase, the "face" of the Ridge Race series.
