Richard Eyre appointed Chairman of Digital Bridges
Leading Mobile Games Publisher Appoints Media & Entertainment Expert as Chairman
London, 22nd December 2004: Digital Bridges, a world leader in the creation and distribution of mobile entertainment solutions, today announced the appointment of Richard Eyre, one of the most respected names in the media and entertainment industry, as Chairman of its Board. Previously a non-executive director of Digital Bridges, Eyre has increased his commitment to the company at an explosive stage in the company's growth. Coming at the end of a year which has seen the company's Q3 revenue grow by more than 30% over Q2, and in which the company has reinforced its presence in the US and Asia, this appointment will help bring an enhanced focus in the next phase of the company's development.
A high-profile figure within the UK media and entertainment business, Eyre has held some of the top positions in the industry's most prestigious organisations. He was previously Chief Executive of Capital Radio, whose value grew fourfold over the six years he held the post. In 1997 he became Chief Executive of ITV where led a turnaround at the network, reviving audience and advertising revenue performance. As Chairman and CEO at Pearson TV, Eyre led the company's merger with RTL, becoming Director of Strategy and Content in the new group.
In addition to his new post with Digital Bridges, Eyre holds a number of board and advisory positions at companies in the media and entertainment sector, including the Chairmanship of the Interactive Advertising Bureau and one of the largest independent TV producers, RDF; he is advisor to music entertainment company 19 Management Ltd and a board director of The Guardian Media Group.
Digital Bridges has launched a raft of premium branded titles over the last two months. , Following announcement of the company's exclusive co-publishing and distribution agreement with Electronic Arts, Digital Bridges has launched EA's FIFA Football 2005 Mobile International EditionT and EA SPORTST 2005 Tiger Woods PGA TOUR®. Other launches include 2 Fast 2 FuriousT, Colin McRae Rally 2005T, dbi 3-D Pool and the 3 MGM titles RollerballT, PlatoonT and RobocopT.
