Resolution Games secures $7.5 million in additional funding
Angry Birds: FPS and Bait developer will invest additional finance into additional VR and AR projects
Stockholm-based studio Resolution Games has completed a series B round of funding to the tune of $7.5 million.
The round was led buy MizMaa Ventures and brought on board new investors such as Unity founder David Helgason and VC firms Fly Forever and GP Bullhound.
Previous investors Sisu Game Ventures, Bonnier Ventures, Creandum and GV also chipped in with the financing round.
It brings the company's total funding up to $13.5 million, and will be used to grow its IP portfolio in both virtual and augmented reality.
Resolution is best known for popular virtual reality titles such as fishing sim Bait and has been venturing into augmented and mixed reality. Most recently, the firm worked with Rovio to develop and release Angry Birds FPS: First Person Slingshot for Magic Leap.
"Every one of our investors shares our incredible enthusiasm about the future of visual computing," says CEO and co-founder Tommy Palm.
"With the amount of interest we're seeing from the industry around our titles, coupled with the exciting new platforms like the Oculus Quest coming to market, we foresee larger volumes of players and a viable multiplayer market. Needless to say, these are exciting times."
