RenderHeads Ltd. Announces Itself With Website Launch

RenderHeads Ltd, a new software development company, was formed in December 2006 by former members of the games development industry and today announces itself with the launch of its website ( www.renderheads.com).

The founders of RenderHeads are passionate about the state of the art in real-time computer generated graphics, and have set up a company dedicated to graphics-intensive software solutions. They believe that other businesses can benefit from the high-end skills and technologies commonly used in the games industry.

As their website explains, RenderHeads is focused on graphics related software development, and also offer other services including the development of downloadable games, audio software development, and bespoke audio soundtrack creation.

The portfolio section of their new websites outlines some of the projects they've completed. Since its formation 4 months ago, RenderHeads has successfully been involved in two commercial projects.

For their first project, RenderHeads was commissioned to realise a production company's vision by creating a bespoke software solution for part of the Ford stand at the Geneva and Amsterdam motor-shows. This software was a public-facing custom user interface which allowed VJs to preview, edit and sort through thousands of audience-generated pieces of media (text, images, videos) a day. Their second project involved accelerating an existing piece of image processing software by converting the algorithms to run on the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), yielding a speedup of over one hundred times.
