Relentless Receive Four Develop Award Nominations

10th June 2006. Brighton, UK. Relentless Software, one of the UK's most innovative and exciting independent game development studios today announced their delight at receiving four nominations for the prestigious Develop Industry Excellence Awards. They share the nomination of two of the awards* with their publishing partner, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) External Development.

The four nominations, more than any other studio, are:

Best Independent Studio
Grand Prix
Best Console IP (Buzz)*
Innovation (Buzz controllers)*

Andy Eades, Development Director and co-founder of Relentless commented, "Everybody at Relentless and SCEE has worked really hard to make Buzz! a success and it's great to see so much goodwill from our peers who've voted for us."

The this latest quartet of nominations comes hot on the heels of the studio's ranking as one of the Top 3 Most Successful Developers in UK in the past twelve months as revealed in the recent annual Develop 100 from data supplied by ChartTrack and Elspa.

Relentless is currently working on prototypes for next-generation consoles and actively recruiting staff across all disciplines.

The Develop Excellence Awards winners will be unveiled on Wednesday 12th July at the Metropole Hotel in Relentless's home town of Brighton on the south-west coast of the UK.

Buzz!: The Music Quiz? and Buzz!: The Big Quiz? have sold over 2 million units on PlayStation?2 to date, in Europe alone and further versions of the hugely popular franchise are due for release by SCEE throughout 2006.

Relentless Software was formed in late 2003 by Andrew Eades and David Amor. Both Eades and Amor have track records in the videogames industry that include working at DMA, Virgin and Electronic Arts, and on many games including the Lemmings and Harry Potter franchises.
