RedOctane's Guitar Hero is sponsoring a second stage for this summer's Family Values tour, bringing five more bands and a special competition to the event.
The second stage will feature newcomers Five Finger Death Punch, Invitro, and Twin Method, with two others to be announced shortly. In between sets, the second stage will also host a national competition for Guitar Hero II, with finalists competing for an autographed Korn guitar, band access passes, and a chance to play against Korn's Jonathan Davis backstage after the show.
Last year, Davis told the Wall Street Journal that he is a huge fan of the Guitar Hero videogame and often spent as much time playing it on the tour bus as he did performing onstage.
"This is the hottest game in the country and we are stoked to have them on the tour," said Davis.
The Family Values tour, first begun in 1998 by the band Korn, is a hard rock, metal, and rap tour that has featured performers such as Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit, The Crystal Method, Primus, Ja Rule, Method Man & Redman, Deftones, and Stone Temple Pilots.
Headliners for the 2007 tour include Korn, Ecanescene, Atreyu, Flyleaf, Hellyeah, and Trivium.
