Red Dead remains top of UK chart
Rockstar's free-roaming Western holds off World Cup and UFC for another week
Rockstar's highly-rated Western action title, Red Dead Redemption has remained at the top of the UK all formats sales chart for another week, according to the latest data from GfK Chart-Track.
The game held off competition from 2010 FIFA World Cup from EA, which placed second, and UFC 2010: Undisputed in third - while Ubisoft's Just Dance continued to demonstrate broad popularity in fourth place.
In a top ten that contained mostly familiar names, Wii Fit Plus took fifth ahead of the only new entrant - Sims 3 add-on Ambitions.
Modern Warfare 2 marched on in seventh, while Wii Sports Resort jumped up to eighth, Lost Planet 2 held steady in ninth and Blur climbed back in the chart's elite in tenth.
There were only three new entries to the top 40 in total in the sales week ending June 5 (excluding a re-entry for The Sims 3), and while Hudson may be pleased with Rooms: The Main Building landing at number 12, there's every reason to believe Ubisoft will be disappointed with 36th for Pure Football.
The full top ten is as follows:
- 1. Red Dead Redemption (Take-Two)
- 2. 2010 FIFA World Cup (EA)
- 3. UFC 2010: Undisputed (THQ)
- 4. Just Dance (Ubisoft)
- 5. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo)
- 6. The Sims 3: Ambitions (EA)
- 7. Modern Warfare 2 (Activision)
- 8. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo)
- 9. Lost Planet 2 (Capcom)
- 10. Blur (Activision)
