Record attendance expected for MEM conference
Two-day event kicks off tomorrow
Organisers of the sixth annual Mobile Entertainment Market conference are expecting a record attendance for this year's event, which kicks off in Central London tomorrow and will once again play host to the Mobile Entertainment Awards ceremony.
The official conference and networking event for the Mobile Entertainment Forum, last year's MEM attracted almost 1300 delegates from countries across the globe, offering insight into best practice, new trends, emerging technologies and a valuable meeting point and forum for bridging relationships and securing deals in the mobile industry.
The 2006 event, which has been expanded to account for the rapid growth of the industry and the mobile entertainment platform, features six conference tracks: Mobile TV, Mobile Music and Mobile Games forming the focal point for day one, with Mobile Gambling, Sport and Adult Content, MVNO, D2C and Mobile Advertising and Mobile Search, User Experience and Delivery Platforms covered comprehensively on day two.
The conference will take place at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, with over 100 exhibitors, 5 networking areas, a VIP lounge, a networking bar, internet access zone, a press centre and an area for showcasing new content, technology and applications.
The MEM will also play host to the "Meffys", the annual awards ceremony for the Mobile Entertainment Forum which this year have been extended to include three new categories: Mobile Entertainment Operator Award, Mobile Entertainment Handset Award and the Mobile Entertainment Marketing Campaign Award.
The Mobile Games Award category shortlist this year includes iFone's Sonic The Hedgehog, Glu Mobile's casual game Zuma and EA's mobile racer, Need for Speed Most Wanted.
