Reboot Develop secures EGDF as key partner, adds more speakers
Dubrovnik conference will host developer association's Spring General Assembly
The European Games Developer Federation (EGDF)'s annual Spring General Assembly will this year be hosted by Reboot: Develop in Dubrovnik on April 19th, the show has announced, "making Reboot Develop the focal point and key gathering place of the European games industry for 2017."
As well as the EGDF conference, Reboot Develop will also host the first ever Unity regional certification sessions, allowing attendees to become certified Unity developers.
The event will also play host to a live pitching session, with a board of over 20 publishers, investors and platform holders sitting on the jury, plus a qualifying chapter of the Nordic Game Discovery contest, which GamesIndustry.biz will be helping to support both during qualifying stages and at the contest final at the Nordic Game Conference in Malmo this May.
As well as these new special events, Reboot has confirmed another wave of topline speakers, including Dan Murray, president of Skybound Interactive; Dave Gibbons, Watchmen and Beneath a Steel Sky creator; Sony PlayStation's new senior strategic content manager Lorenzo Grimaldi; art head of Nordeus Daryl Clewlow; Jaakko Iisalo, creator of Angry Birds; Alexander Bobko, head of global special projects at Wargaming; and Matej Jenko - principal game designer at Outfit7, who will give the company's first public address since it was acquired by an Asian consortium for $1 billion earlier this year. Another 30 speakers are still to be announced.
GamesIndustry.biz will also be continuing its longstanding partnership with the show, hosting on-stage interviews and late-night wrap-up sessions, as well as our VIP drinks mixer. More details will follow, but anyone wanting to attend should snap up a ticket fast, as attendance is rapidly filling up.
"This year's event promises to be a highlight of the calendar for industry leaders across the world," said conference organiser Damir Durovic. "We've almost doubled our attendees and speaker list this year, have added a ton of extra events and a huge number of indie-focused activities. It's going to be something special."
