The year's most innovative casual games are put under a game design microscope.
NEW YORK CITY, February 18, 2008 - Rebel Monkey TM , a New York casual game house, today announced that company co-founder Nicholas Fortugno is delivering a featured panel at the annual Game Developers Conference, held in San Francisco this week.
The panel, "Casual Game Design: A Year in Review," is co-presented by Nick Fortugno and Juan Gril, Studio Manager of Joju Games. The focus of the panel is on dissecting the year's best casual game designs.
"We've seen a lot of changes happen in the casual game industry in the past year," says Nick Fortugno. "In a lot of ways, we are at a crossroads as an industry. In the panel, Juan Gril and I cover the highlights of casual game design - making predictions as to where the coming year will take us."
Established in 2007, Rebel Monkey was co-founded by game industry luminaries Margaret Wallace, whose past ventures include Skunk Studios in San Francisco, and Nick Fortugno, who was notably Lead Designer of the original Diner Dash game. The company recently announced that it raised $1 million in Series A financing from Redpoint Ventures, of Menlo Park, CA.
The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is the world's largest professionals-only game industry event. Further details on the GDC are found at www.gdcconf.com.
