Will Leverett and Patrick Bays join developer of All Points Bulletin.
BOULDER, CO. and DUNDEE, Scotland – April 1, 2009 – Realtime Worlds, the leading independent video game developer, announced today that it has boosted its Operations Team in Boulder, CO. with the high profile appointments of Will Leverett as Director of Customer Service, and of Patrick Bays as Manager of Game Operations.
Will Leverett has worked for the past eleven years in the online game service industry in various roles at Origin Systems/Electronic Arts and NCsoft North America. He brings to RTW experience on a dozen shipped MMO titles, working with each development studio to assist them in preparing their product to be an online service.
Leverett has significant experience in numerous facets of an online persistent world: building teams to administer and support online games, ensuring an open line of communication with players, developing support infrastructure, combating fraud and farming activities, and working with communities and support teams around the world via a virtual environment.
Patrick Bays has previously held positions at Origin Systems, NCsoft and Turbine Entertainment. During his tenure at Turbine he worked on several MMOs, including the launch of Lord of the Rings Online (Shadows of Angmar & Mines of Moria), and was ultimately Network Operations Manager where he was responsible for ensuring minimal downtime for all live services.
Bays will design a robust and fully scalable publishing platform that will deliver content to our customers with minimal service interruption. He commented "Our developers are making an unbelievable game in APB, it's my job to make sure it's available to our players. As a gamer myself, I don’t find 6 or 8 hours downtime every week acceptable, so our system will allow our players to enjoy our games round the clock.”
Rob Rice, VP of Online Operations, noted “We’re rapidly building up our Operations capability towards a successful launch of APB and beyond, and are delighted to have Will and Patrick’s experience as part of the company to allow us to achieve that.”
