Open beta for the first Arabic language MMORPG now underway.
Tokyo, Japan – Friday, January 15, 2009 – Gala Inc. is proud to announce today announced that nFlavor Corp., a consolidated subsidiary of Gala Inc., has launched the open beta of the first Arabic language MMORPG, Rappelz.
Launching today and available as a free-to-play download, Rappelz is the first MMORPG specifically designed for Arabic language players across North Africa and the Middle East. Various details of the game have been modified to better fit in with Islam culture. These include new sound effects for monsters and player characters, and modified costumes for female characters to cover more skin.
Rappelz is a European-themed MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) currently being provided for audiences in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong-Kong, China, Germany, France, Russia, the United States and other English speaking countries.
Now players from over twenty Arabic-speaking countries including Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Mauritania, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, Palestine, and Somalia can join play.
In April 2008, nFlavor Corp. signed a licensing agreement with Game Power 7, a Dubai-based publisher of online games.
Rappelz is the first MMORPG localized into Arabic, and has been greatly anticipated by the media and gamers alike. Various promotions will take place to further enhance the visibility of the game in preparation for the full commercial launch.
