Radar Group has announced its official public launch today, coinciding with the launch of its website and the announcement of its first three game projects.
Earth No More, Incarnate and Prey 2 are currently in development at the company.
Founded in June 2007, Radar Group co-creates original IP for successful leveraging in game and film markets.
"We're something our industry desperately needs," says Scott Miller, Radar's chief creative officer and founder of Apogee and co-founder of 3D Realms and Gathering of Developers.
"Radar is teaming up with many of the industry's top independent studios to help them create original IP in which they own a substantial ownership stake.
"Radar believes that creators should share ownership, and all of the long-term benefits that come from that."
The new company will be led by Miller, CEO Jim Perkins, executive creative director Raphael van Lierop and vice president strategic partnerships Dave Adams. Cummulatively, this leadership team has sold over 35 million units worldwide and generated USD 1.7 billion in sales.
In the film space, Radar will work with partner Depth Entertainment. Depth president Scott Faye is currently producing the film adaptation of the Max Payne game in conjunction with 20th Century Fox.
