R-Type ™, the most popular shot ' em up of the 90s, allowed his original owner, Irem Software Engineering Inc, to definitely enter the legend of video games. The game provided numerous graphic and gameplay innovations, such as the charge shot feature, but also giant bosses at the end of every level. R-Type™ has been ported on numerous platforms, ranging from PC to 8-bit and 16-bit home computers and consoles.
