Quake Live TV, a community-run broadcasting organization, is set to provide exclusive video coverage of QuakeCon 2010. QuakeCon, the largest LAN party in North America, is hosted annually in Dallas, TX and is home to the Intel ® QUAKE LIVE ® Masters Championship. Known as one of the most prestigious gaming tournaments worldwide, this year boasts a prize pool of over $50,000. After three years of main-stage action QUAKE LIVE ® remains a top choice for competitive gamers.

Quake Live TV has partnered with QuakeCon 2010 to provide complete coverage of the official QUAKE LIVE ® tournaments and Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) events, in addition to interviews and community content. The Intel ® QUAKE LIVE ® Masters Championship will be hosted by world-renowned eSports commentators James “2GD” Harding and Joe "Joe" Miller. They will be partnering with Quake Live TV commentators Steve “GreasedScotsman” Huff and Alex “Jehar” Popa, who will be covering the Capture the Flag, Open Duel and BYOC tournaments. Together, they will capture all of the QUAKE LIVE ® action, energy, and excitement.

The live broadcast of the official Intel ® Masters tournaments will be available at www.quakelive.com with supplementary content syndicated on www.quakelive.tv. For European viewers, the broadcast will be recorded and replayed outside of tournament hours. Furthermore, attendees can now catch all of the action up close in the newly-created 250-seat tournament arena.

In addition to the professional tournaments, Quake Live TV will feature full coverage of several community-organized tournaments held in the BYOC LAN. With player interviews, BYOC tours and tournaments, vendor area exclusives, and the Intel ® Masters competitions, Quake Live TV and its partners are poised to bring more of the QuakeCon experience home than ever before.

About Quake Live TV

Quake Live TV grew out of a broadcasting company for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars called “Enemy Territory TV.” From there, the core team has been involved with the design, coding, broadcasting, and community features that went into Quake Live TV. Since its inception in 2009, Quake Live TV has streamed over 1,000 Quake Live matches.

The Quake Live TV team currently features fifteen staff members who volunteer their time and effort. Quake Live TV remains a grassroots, community-run organization despite their strong work ethic and professional results. Quake Live TV is steadfast on expanding the interest of eSports to a wider audience, and works hard to provide regular, high quality entertainment.

About QuakeCon

Often described as the “Woodstock of Gaming,” QuakeCon is a four-day, non-stop celebration of games and the people who play them. Free to all and open to the public, QuakeCon 2010 will feature North America’s largest Bring-Your-Own-Computer (BYOC) LAN party for nearly 3,000 people, drawings and contests with big cash prizes, exhibits with the latest games and hardware, and non-stop entertainment, parties and events. First created in 1996 by a group of friends on IRC and now going into its fifteenth year, QuakeCon remains true to its original mission as an event created by gamers, for gamers. Sponsored by id Software and other industry-leading software and hardware manufacturers, QuakeCon continues to be run by a dedicated group of volunteers, including an executive team with more than 75 years of combined experience producing the event. Over 7,000 people attended QuakeCon 2009.
