Pulse
Dutch Global Game Jam winner picked up by Virtual Fairground.
March 4, 2009
Amsterdam, the Netherlands – Virtual worlds and online games production company Virtual Fairground ( www.virtualfairground.com), today announced that they will take Pulse, the winning concept of the Dutch Global Game Jam into production.
“We recognize a kick-ass concept when we see one”, says Ilja Goossens of the decision made by Virtual Fairground to further develop the concept. “With a fast majority of the audience voting for Pulse during the Dutch Global Game Jam final, it was clear that the concept struck a nerve. A lot of people within Virtual Fairground love music-based games like Rez, Amplitude, and Guitar Hero. This idea holds such strong promise, we just had to do something with it.”
Virtual Fairground promptly decided to hire some members of the original team and started working on a fully-fledged demo in time for the Game Developers Conference 2009 end of March. Here they plan on showing the concept to potential publishers and distributors.
