PSP tops Japanese hardware charts
Sony's handheld continues to sell strongly as the Wii closes the gap
The Japanese hardware sales charts for the week ended May 11 have been released, showing Sony's PSP sitting on the top spot with 89,884 units sold.
The figures, released by Media Create, show that the PSP was followed by the Wii which sold 67,308 units, up from the 48,796 unit sales recorded in the previous week's chart.
The Nintendo DS was the third best seller with 51,228 units sold and the PlayStation 3 took fourth place selling 8,054 units.
Sony's PlayStation 2 continues to sell well in Japan, shifting 7,464 units and beating the Xbox 360, which only managed 1,298 units during the week.
