PSP leads hardware sales in Japan

Marginal sales rise for Nintendo and Xbox 360 consoles

Although sales of the PSP have fallen in Japan, Sony's handheld is still the best-selling hardware in the region.

According to data from Media Create, the PSP sold 67,452 units, ahead of Nintendo's DS, which sold 56,968 units for the week ended July 27.

Wii sales were marginally better than last week, climbing to 41,024, with the PlayStation 3 selling 10,692 units.

The PlayStation 2 sold 9291 units, while the Xbox 360 sold 4941, up from last week's 4208.
