PS3 sales tumble in Japan
Hardware sales dip hits Sony's console hardest, leaving it outpaced by rival Xbox 360
Japanese hardware sales have plummeted for the week ended October 12, hitting the PlayStation 3 hardest and reducing its sales down to 5734 units, from 7232 last week.
According to data provided by Media Create, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 sales have both continued to outpace those of the PS3 in the region, at 7763 units and 6982 units respectively.
The Nintendo DS remained in the top position with 31,914 units sold, followed by Sony's rival handheld, the PlayStation Portable, at 23,901 units, while the Wii was the top selling home console at 22,877 units.
