PS3 Attitude/Shakefire.com deal
Charity-supporting PS3 news site hooks up with multimedia consumer news network.
July 15, 2010, London, UK and Atlanta, US – PS3 Attitude, a philanthropic PlayStation 3 news website that gives 100% of its revenue to charity, has announced today that it is to become part of the Shakefire.com network. Shakefire.com is a multimedia consumer news and reviews website that enjoys over 2 million readers a month.
The deal will see PS3 Attitude and Shakefire.com share traffic and original content with each other, helping to increase the popularity of all sites in the network. In the case of PS3 Attitude, this deal provides an opportunity to increase the donation and advertising revenue they generate for the benefit of the charities they support.
PS3 Attitude’s regular visitors will be pleased to hear that there will be no changes to the editorial policies or community, which means that the charitable PlayStation 3 news site will continue to provide scoreless reviews and a balanced view on the marketplace.
“This move offers a unique opportunity for us to expand its coverage of video game reviews and articles whilst making a real difference to PS3 Attitude’s charity fund by boosting their readership to new levels” says Peter Oberth of Shakefire.com. “We’re really excited about being able to offer PS3 reviews from a site that has a reputation for creating thought-provoking content, and even more pleased that we are in a position to positively affect the fortunes of such a great cause”, Oberth added.
The deal does not change the ownership of either site. PS3 Attitude remains a privately funded venture that is run by a team of dedicated volunteers across Europe and the USA, and this funding ensures that none of the revenue generated through advertising and donations is used for administration.
“This is a great moment in the history of PS3 Attitude. After three years of increasing our readership and community through organic growth and word-of-mouth, Shakefire have given us the kind of boost you normally only read about. Our charity fund will benefit hugely from this partnership, and our hard-working volunteers will find their articles and reviews being read by a much wider audience, a prospect we are all excited about”, says PS3 Attitude’s Editor-in-Chief and Founder, DolphGB.

About PS3 Attitude
Founded in 2007, PS3 Attitude is a PlayStation 3 news site with a difference. A philanthropic venture, run by a team of volunteers, 100% of the revenue generated through the website and its related fund-raising activities is given to charity. Because the site is privately funded and the entire team offer their time without charge, none of the money raised is used for site hosting, administration or salaries.
PS3 Attitude has become one of the most popular online destinations for PlayStation 3 owners, delivering balanced news, reviews, interviews and previews – along with thought-provoking original articles – on the latest PS3-related topics. Along with their unique approach to raising money for their supported charities, PS3 Attitude is also known for its scoreless reviews, which engage the reader and help them to make buying decisions based on every word, not just the last two or three digits.

The brainchild of Pandora Smith, Kara Johnson and former Flick Music owner Peter Oberth, Shakefire.com continues to grow at an unprecedented year-to-year rate.
Shakefire.com was completely rethought, redesigned and re-launched in April of 2009 to wide critical and audience acclaim. Phase 2 of the re-launch is in the works now.
