Pro Evolution Soccer rings the changes

Konami of Europe is to release a version of its best-selling Pro Evolution Soccer for mobile phones. The game will be available from March 2006, and will be released via both the publisher's new Konami Net download service and all major download services in Europe.

Provisionally entitled Pro Evolution Soccer Mobile, the game will feature AI from Pro Evolution Soccer 5 and will be played within a 2D play area. It will be a single-player game, with further gameplay details to be announced in the coming months. The game will be available across European territories with WAP access to Konami Net - the publisher's download portal - while a list of providers and compatible handsets is still to be confirmed.

The launch of Pro Evolution Soccer Mobile is a further demonstration of Konami of Europe's commitment to expanding its newly-founded mobile division. Konami's mobile content already features conversions of popular franchises such as Castlevania, Frogger and Silent Scope for mobile users to download, with more titles and game-related wallpapers and audio files to follow. Konami plans to extend its Mobile Games business to over 46 independent European territories, and will also be responsible for the Middle East, Africa and Oceania, with Pro Evolution Soccer Mobile a key addition to its range.
