Price drops see Skyrim take UK number 1
Modern Warfare 3 relegated to second by discounted RPG
Bethesda's massive open-world RPG Skyrim has jumped four places in the UK software chart to first place for the first time since release, thanks largely to an average discount of £13 at retail.
Sales of the game were up 145 per cent since last week.
Previous leader Modern Warfare 3, on top of the chart since its release five weeks ago, slipped down to second with a seven per cent drop in sales with Just Dance 3 jumping by 47 per cent to take third.
Elsewhere, Christmas discounting also paid off for Uncharted 3, returning to the top ten after a three week absence to come in ninth after heavy promotion.
