PopCap Games - Bookworm DSiware
PopCap's first DSiWare title available in Europe now.
DUBLIN, Ireland – November 8th, 2010 — PopCap Games, worldwide leader in casual games, today announced the immediate availability of its first-ever Nintendo DSiWare™ title in Europe. Hit word game, Bookworm®, is now available for download in the UK and Ireland for the price of 500 Nintendo DSi Points™.
Bookworm is one of PopCap’s most successful franchises: available for ten different platforms and boasting over 100 million downloads, it is the world's most popular digital word game. Bookworm for Nintendo DSiWare has been specifically tuned for dual-screen, vertical use and presents an array of new features and modes that are exclusively available on Nintendo DS. And with Bookworm proven by the Stress Management Society UK to help relieve stress, there’s even more reason to have it in your pocket.
“We are delighted to bring Bookworm to Nintendo DSiWare in Europe”, said Paul Breslin, General Manager at PopCap Games’ European Headquarters. “At PopCap, we work to make our games accessible for anyone, everywhere while customizing the experience for each new device. It’s a big ambition but every new platform release brings us one step closer.”
In Bookworm, players must build words from contiguous letter tiles on a grid. Longer and more difficult words score more points and produce a variety of “gem tiles” that offer additional bonuses (and mega-bonuses when multiple gem tiles are used in a single word). Burning tiles sear through normal tiles, reaching the bottom of the grid more quickly; they must be used before they reach the bottom or the game ends.
