Pokemon Platinum tops Japanese charts

DS title joins spate of new games to debut in the chart's top ten

New titles have topped the Japanese software chart for the week ended September 14, according to figures provided by Media Create.

Nintendo DS title Pokemon Platinum debuts on the chart in first place, having sold 963,000 units, followed by Quiz Magic Academy, also for the DS, in second place with 119,000 units sold.

Infinite Undiscovery for the Xbox 360 came in at number three at 90,000 units and One Piece Unlimited Cruise: Episode 1 - Nami ni Yureru Hihou for the Wii debuts at number four with 61,000 units.

Rhythm Tengoku Heaven for the DS came in fifth place while Wii Fit came in sixth and D.Gray-man: Sousha no Shikaku debuted on the PlayStation 2 in seventh place.

Mario Kart Wii secured eighth place, Daigasso! Band Brothers DX came in at ninth and J-League Winning Eleven 2008 Club Championship for the PS2 closed the chart at ten.
