Top 50 mobile gaming developers announced.

London, UK – 21 st February 2011 – PocketGamer.biz, the mobile gaming sector’s premier b2b portal, has begun revealing its list of the foremost mobile developers.

The annual event saw thousands of publishers and developers who released mobile games during 2010 evaluated by the PG.biz team to determine what it considers to be the leading 50 outfits of last year.

In terms of the ranking process, the team incorporated metrics such as sales performance, critical acclaim of releases, innovation in terms of business approach, and the number and range of titles released during 2010 in its approach.

“The rate of innovation in the mobile games sector, both in terms of gameplay and business models, continues to accelerate extremely quickly,” said Jon Jordan, PocketGamer.biz editor.

"As well as the massive success of casual titles such as Rovio's Angry Birds and Halfbrick's Fruit Ninja, we've seen console developers such as Chair Entertainment enter the market with Infinity Blade, and that's not to forget the quality of output from publishers such as Gameloft and PopCap.

"Condensing a list to 50 names has been a very difficult task but the harder it is for us, the better it is for gamers, and that's what counts."

The list, produced in conjunction with mobile cross platform SDK and infrastructure company Scoreloop, will be revealed daily this week in the Top 50 Developers 2011 section on PocketGamer.biz.
