Pocket God: Journey to Uranus
New iPad version of Bolt Creative's deity sim now available.
SAN FRANCISCO - December 16, 2010
Bolt Creative today announced that the famed Pygmies of Pocket God have made their highly anticipated iOS big screen debut with Pocket God: Journey to Uranus, available now and exclusively on iPad for $4.99. The title offers two planets to explore, as well as various ways to torture Pygmies, with plans to release new planets and games in the near future.
Pocket God: Journey to Uranus is a brand-new app from the creators of best-selling Pocket God, with the new title being developed completely from the ground up and containing new mini-games not present in the original iOS title, such as “A-Hole In Time,” a game that pays homage to Tempest 2000, a personal favorite of Bolt Creative CEO Dave Castelnuovo. With the Pygmies floating around in outer space, players can guide their loyal subjects towards different planets to start various mini-games, as well as torture their followers by burning them up in the atmosphere, throwing them into the sun, or having them get chased around by aliens.
“We wanted to do something different for iPad, not just a HD only revamp of our original title, so we built it from scratch with the notion in mind that fans of our original game, who also have an iPad, could enjoy an entirely brand new experience,” said Dave Castelnuovo, CEO of Bolt Creative. “The planets have been rendered in a mix of 2D and 3D and the animation is all hi-def, plus there’s just so much more space to torture and kill Pygmies—without a doubt we’re pleased to have Pocket God on the iPad and look forward to seeing sadistic grins appear on our fan’s faces worldwide."
